About / Contact

Eve Miller (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Leeds, working with ceramic sculpture, painting, printmaking and installation. She takes a playful approach to making and works intuitively with different textures and materials. Miller is often drawn to clay as it enables her to shape, mould and sculpt her ideas into a physical form. In her work she often explores specific colours and their connections to different mental states, thoughts and emotions.

Her physical bodies of work and immersive installations incorporating light and sound are informed by phenomenology and aim to explore the viewer’s relationship with architectural space. Miller views time spent experiencing art as an opportunity to be present and grounded. Her immersive installations create space for the viewer to quietly contemplate, enjoy a break from the pressures of daily life, and take forward a meditative calm within them after they leave the gallery space.

Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Perspective’ for ArtWalk Wakefield (2023) and Shapes of My Clay, at Lord Whitney Leeds (2022). Current projects include ‘In Search of the Giant’s Wife’, a sculpture and film collaboration with Joanna Byrne, (partly funded by a Bradford Arts and Heritage Grant).

Miller works as an arts educator, teaching practical workshops in ceramics, clay and visual arts, and has delivered artistic projects, commissions and workshop programmes for partners such as LEEDS 2023, Art House Wakefield and East Leeds Project/KIOSK. She has held artist residencies at Leeds Arts University and Duke Studios, Leeds.

She also works at Bazaar Studio, Leeds, assisting with creative production on a variety of high profile events.
